White House Visitors Log API
The Washington Post White House Visitors Log API stores information on White House visits since January 2009. The API has logged more than 2.2 million visits with more being added quarterly.
The Trove API provided here makes available some of the text analysis and data resources that underlie the personalization engine powering trove.com and some personalized features of washingtonpost.com. The operations provided here do named entity extraction and resolution if possible, as well as document subject classification. They also allow lookup into our "resource" catalogue of entities and categories.
Now available at apiportal.washingtonpost.com.
Because the election is now over, we are no longer maintaining the API endpoints for Issue Engine and Campaign Finance.
We have added a new API to the portal!
We think about data a lot here at The Post, and our new API portal will be a place where we open up and connect data sets. Of course, being The Washington Post, we're going to have a big focus on what goes on in Washington D.C., and that includes both data from and about the Federal Government, and also local/regional data.
In the spirit of show your work, we're excited to announce The Washington Post's developer portal today.
